Today I was greeted in bed with flowers, coupons and homemade greeting cards. Not to brag but my kids make the best greeting cards and Jude gave me a 50% discount coupon to buy one of his drawings 😂
We left the house early to take the boat down to Fort Lauderdale and watch the Air Show. Unfortunately, thousands of locals had the same idea and water traffic was worse than I-95!
We anchored for lunch and watched the jets going faster than we could video them. Once it got too windy, the planes took a pause so we decided to head towards the sea and that was NOT a good idea. The app said the Fort Lauderdale Inlet was at 2’ waves and that was not accurate. We have been on 3’ and 4’ waves and these were way bigger. We were probably in 5’ waves and the kids were terrified. Reagan had a panic attack when the bow was so high she couldn’t see the ocean and the Geico speed boat next to us, flew over 3 waves up in the air. She screamed, she was crying her head off and was convinced we were going to drown. My poor baby was panicking.
I brought both kids to the back to calm them down while David put his terrific boating skills at work. He couldn’t just turn the boat around on an inlet, so he had to keep driving toward the waves until the merging waters slow down. Once he turned the boat around, all was well and we were able to enjoy ourselves again 🙏
On our way back, we realized someone had lost one of their floaties on the intracoastal so we picked it up and the kids had fun with it. It goes to show you how kids live for the moment. An hour earlier they were panicking and now, here they were, amazed with a starfish and playing as if nothing had ever happened 💙

I can’t believe this is my 10th year celebrating Mother’s Day. It feels like just yesterday I was mourning my first miscarriage and wondering if I was ever going to be a mother, and here I am now, celebrating life with the two most wonderful kids I could ever ask for. I must have been a good person in my previous life, because I was blessed in this one ☺️
