This recipe can be done with Italian Sausage, Brats or any other sausage. It’s a very similar sauce to the Caldeirada de Peixe and Lobster Linguine.
I generally pair this dish with pasta, mashed potatoes or salad, but tonight, at the family’s request, I did it more as tapas. The kids asked for Cheese Board for dinner, but David and I were pretty hungry, so adding this as a small plate, helped a lot and looked great!

Cheese Boards are a common staple in our house, especially on Friday nights. We like eating at the kitchen counter while watching a family movie and picking from the board. I will make a separate blog post on my cheese boards, as I add so much to it and often varies on its contents.
This one had Caprese Salad, Manchego cheese, Brie, prosciutto, fig and orange marmalade, avocado, strawberries, walnuts, grapes, olives and the sausage. Basically whatever is left in the fridge, makes an appearance 😉
Here’s the recipe for the sausage, so I don’t get too side tracked:
Ingredients:
- Sausage (any)
- Olive Oil
- Beer (or white wine)
- 2-3 Chopped Tomatoes
- 1 Chopped Onion
- Basil
- Rosemary
- Slice Sweet Peppers
- Parsley
- Salt, Black Pepper and Red Crushed Peppers
Preparation:
Heat up olive oil in a pot and add all ingredients but the beer (or wine). Let the ingredients cook for 2 minutes and then add the beer (or wine). Let it simmer in medium heat for 20-25 minutes and serve!
