This weekend we decided to try a new Keys Resort, Baker’s Cay, and compare it to our recent experience at Playa Largo. This time we drove down as the boat is getting shiny new equipment but the car ride wasn’t too bad. That is, if I don’t mention how Reagan threw up her entire strawberry sundae all over the seat and how I had to wash her off at a Miami Burger King restroom. Aside of that and the 14,896,265 “Are we there yet?” the ride was actually nice and smooth. *sighs*
We drove past the All Inclusive Resort Bungalows and that’s going to be one of our next stops, sans kids. We heard great things about it and we are eager to try it out. Next month we are planning to take our friends down to Cheeca Lodge. I will be sure to write a review on that one too.
Baker’s Cay Resort offers valet but we didn’t use it since the car smelled like bile. So much for new car smell. That lasted a week! Have kids they said…
The self parking was easy and self explanatory. Feel free to park by the main door as the buildings are pretty close to one another. We are Hilton Honors Members so I was able to check us in online. All you need is a smart phone and you get to skip the usual check-in hassle. The app will announce when your room is ready and you can open the door with your phone’s digital key.
The room was spacious and although our balcony was facing the ocean, all we could see what green vegetation. Not bad just not what we were expecting. As soon as we walked out of the room this was our walk to the Dry Rocks restaurant:
The resort is definitely family friendly, too much in fact. There was so much for the kids to do on a daily basis, that they dragged us everywhere: dodgeball, bicycles, outdoor movie night, ping pong, archery, pool games, bingo, scavenger hunt, kayaking, you name it. We walked out of this vacation more exhausted than when we first walked in!
Here’s some highlights of our trip:
