Watch Your Favorite Shows Without Cable

When we received our last bill from the cable company, charging us $293.57, we knew that outrageous utility bill had to end and soon. So we ditched our cable and never looked back. Let me show you how you can watch all of your favorite shows without cable or satellite!

big little lies

Thanks to Roku and Amazon Fire TV Stick you can watch all of your shows without having to pay hundreds of dollars every month! It is very easy, affordable and I am not sure why haven’t we all ditched our cable companies! I LOVE the Roku main screen as it is very user-friendly and the channels are properly displayed, but I love the voice remote feature on the Amazon Fire Stick. They both allow you to connect to Amazon Video, Netflix, Hulu, Sling, ShowTime, HBO, HGTV, ESPN, you name it. Basically, everything your cable company offers and more! Roku offers way more channels and apps than Amazon does so here’s what we have at our house: in the kid’s playroom, we have an Amazon Fire Sick with the voice-activated remote. This way they can speak to the remote to get the channels they want to watch (Barbie, Pokemon, Little Einsteins, etc). In our living room and bedroom, we have the Roku. All you need to play either one of these is an internet connection and a TV with an HDMI outlet. This is what an HMDI port looks like. Make sure your TV has one of these ports before you purchase any of these sticks:

Ok so let’s say your TV has an HDMI port and you have an internet connection, all you need to do is buy a Roku or Amazon stick and say buh bye to your cable company. It is that simple!

Most people ask me if the channels are local, if they can watch the shows live, and if they can watch them OnDemand at a later time. Brief answer? Yes, yes and yes.

Both Roku and Amazon fire stick will provide you with access to all of these, but you need to sign-up for a couple of subscriptions. Here’s my favorites: Hulu, Sling, and HBO Now. Hulu starts at $7.99/month, Sling is $20/month and HBO Now is $14.99/month.

It seems that is adding up quick, but here’s how much we pay for our TV services: $42.98/month!! We can watch HBO, Disney shows, new releases movies, current TV shows, you name it. This is the best deal out there and I cannot suggest Roku or Amazon Fire Stick enough. Cancel your cable services now and start watching all of the best shows on TV for a fraction of the price.

I have to admit, we have one additional paid service that we are obsessed with and you should get it too: Netflix. You can watch Netflix on both of those sticks and the monthly cost starts as low as $7.99.

Ditch your cable company today, and save those extra dollars to get some ice-cream to Netflix & Chill.

What about sports channels? My hubby would keel over without them during football season. I am really keen to ditch the expensive cable ?

My husband is obsessed with sports and he would probably die if he didn’t have access to ALL of his football games ? Don’t worry, you’re covered! He made me show him a live football game before we canceled cable! Lol During football season he signs up for CBS All Access and ESPN. Those two apps provide live shows and every single game available. Go to http://www.cbs.com/activate/roku so he can watch the games playing on CBS and ESPN is available on Sling http://www.sling.com/Roku/ESPN. After that, you’re good to go!
