Thanksgiving 2010 was interesting. I was 8.5 months pregnant (as you can see), I could barely move and I had to host a party for 16 people! I didn’t want to cancel the dinner even though pregnancy made severely sick (I threw up 5-7 times a day while on Zofran, but that’s a story for another day). I knew I wouldn’t be able to host a party like I used to with the good china and silverware because, I just wanted to toss everything after everyone left, so I bought disposable everything, and guess what? I didn’t get any less compliments than from my previous years when I used my old silver. That’s when I realized that people just want to eat, drink and be amongst friends and family. So don’t let the holidays stress you, don’t try to be the perfect host or put the spotless table together. If you are not in the mood to clean up, just buy paper goods, throw a cornucopia in the middle and call it a day. A Thanksgiving Day! May your holiday be safe, joyful and memorable.
