DIY Peppermint Ornaments

This year I wanted to do something fun for the kids’ bedroom and build a little Winter Wonderland. Will be sharing their entire tree and Christmas decorated room soon.

I made my own peppermint candy ornaments since they were selling for $15 each and I didn’t want to spend $120 in those “suckers” (see what I did there! Ha).

ITEMS USED:

Styrofoam Discs

Red Felt Squares

Tacky Glue

Paper, pencil and scissors

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1 – I traced the disc on a piece of paper

STEP 2 – I eyeballed the measurements and divided the circle in 8 slices.

Shadow the ones that you want to keep as the other ones will be cut out.

STEP 3 – Cut the slices traced above. Make sure you don’t cut all the way to the middle as shown below.

STEP 4 – trace the “blades” onto the felt with a sharpie and cut the felt just like you did to the paper

STEP 5 – glue the cutout felt to the styrofoam disc using tacky glue

Step 6 – I used old white branches as sticks for the ornaments since they would be hidden in the tree anyway
